Haruka Kawaguchi

Piano

Born in 1994 in Hokkaido, Japan. Haruka graduated from Senzoku Gakuen College of music and got her bachelor's degree with highest distinction. Two years later she graduated as the valedictorian of Senzoku Gakuen after her Master's degree, representing all the college's departments in March 2019.

She was awarded various prizes at several competitions, such as the first prize at PTNA piano competition in Hokkaido and grand prize at Beten music competition. She is currently studying with Deniz Gelenbe, having been awarded two scholarships at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Apart from her solo performance, she has previously worked for four years as a ballet pianist concurrently for three professional ballet companies in Japan (Tokyo City, Tani Momoko, and Maki Asami). Her work has been highly rated in the UK since she came to the UK in August 2019. She is currently playing for London Studio Centre as a regular pianist.

Yuki Okuyama

Tenor

Yuki Okuyama graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts with Hiroshi Kawakami and is currently studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire Music and Dance in London under Lynton Atkinson and Kelvin Lim. He won 1st prize in Niigata Music Competition when he was a high school student.

Recently, he performed as a member of a small choir in Verdi’s ‘Rigoletto’, conducted by Riccardo Muti as part of the 'SPRING FESTIVAL IN TOKYO. He has made his UK debut in July 2019: the final concert of Broadstone Music Festival 2019 in Bournemouth, V. Williams's 'Serenade to Music' (Parry Jones). In November, he sang Jupiter from Handel's 'Semele' in Trinity Laban Opera Scenes.

He has studied with Neil Mackie, Kathleen Livingstone, Andrew Robinson, Emanuel Heitz and Taiko Maruyama. Alongside his classic performance he has appeared in many musicals and joined in competitions of ballroom dancing and has won several 1st prizes. These experiences have affected his current operatic activities greatly.

Kyoka Sekiguchi

Piano

Born in 1996 in Tokyo, Japan. Kyoka is currently studying with Penelope Roskell in Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and was awarded the Trinity College London Scholarship. She is also coached privately by Professor Derek Aviss OBE, previous Principal of Trinity College of Music.

At the age of 4 she received her first piano training with Akiko Kamagata and Mika Saito. From 2009 until 2015 she studied piano at Kunitachi College of Music Junior and Senior High Schools with Toshiko Ise and became a representative of her high school. In addition to her solo performances she is also an active chamber musician and was one of the finalists in the French song duo competition at Trinity Laban. She is regularly performing in concerts in venues around London such as Chapel of St. Peter & St. Paul, Old Royal Naval College, St. James’s Sussex Garden and St. George Beckenham and had a series of performances as part of the Casalmaggiore International Music Festival in Italy in 2017.

Melody Lin

Cello

Melody Lin is dedicated to the insightful, sensitive and enthusiastic performance of both solo and chamber music. She earned a fully-funded scholarship to attend Trinity Laban Conservatoire for an MA degree, and has completed a funded Bachelor degree from the Royal College of Music. She has studied under internationally recognized musicians including Richard Lester, Michael Reynolds, and Ling-Yi Ouyang.

Melody’s recent solo recitals include performances at the Royal Society of Musicians, St-Martin-in-the-fields, Wolfson College of Cambridge University, St James’s Piccadilly and at the London Cello Society’s ‘Go Cello!’ opening concert. Melody has been awarded a joint first prize at the Vera Kantrovitch Competition and, with pianist Andrea Emanuele, winner at the The Leonard Smith & Felicity Young Duo Competition 2018. Melody was a member of 2019 Southbank Sinfonia, and plays on a cello by the Klotz family from late 18th century, generously supported by professor Derek Aviss.

Miku Yasukawa

Soprano

Miku Yasukawa graduated from Kunitachi College of Music (BMus) and Tokyo University of the Arts (MA in Music). When she graduated from the latter she was awarded the Mai Mutou Scholarship which allowed her to study in Vienna and London.

She has appeared in many concerts as a soprano soloist in UK and Japan including: B Minor Mass and St. Matthew Passion (J. S. Bach); Messiah (G. F. Handel); Symphony No.9 (Beethoven); Stabat Mater (Pergolesi); and Gloria (Vivaldi). In 2018 she sang the Aria of Pamina from ‘The Magic Flute’ with members of Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. She has studied with Akiko Iwasaki, Naomi Satake, Michio Tatara, Emiko Suga, Nuccia Focile and Lynton Atkinson. From next season, she will be a member of ‘Bach Collegium Japan’. She is also currently a scholarship recipient of Yonden cultural foundation.

Mei Fujisato

Violin

Born and raised in Osaka, Japan, Mei Fujisato began performing at the age of 4. She received the Gold prize and Cultural award in the Infant Section at the Osaka International Music Competition. As she continued her studies in Japan and the USA, she appeared at the New England Music Festival.

Her strong interest in chamber music has led to participation in numerous music festivals such as the International Music Festival of the Adriatic, AlpenKammerMusik and Prague Summer Nights. She has performed Brahms Violin Concerto and Sibelius Violin Concerto with the DePauw Symphony Orchestra as a winner of their Concerto Competition.

In 2017, Mei received the John and Esther Browning Scholarship and Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award for her outstanding musicianship and in 2018, she graduated from DePauw University (Indiana, USA) with the Performance Certificate and Van den Thompson Award. She is currently pursuing her Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music with Radu Blidar.

Hyogun Park

Piano

Hyogun Park is a Japanese-Korean pianist who was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She is currently studying with Martino Tirmo at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, since having completed her bachelor degree at Toho Gakuen College of Music under Yoshie Kora.

She has entered a number of competitions and was one of the finalists of the Japan Music Competition and won the award of ‘Grand Prix of Japan Piano Audition’.

She has performed in various concerts in Tokyo including her solo recitals in 2017 and 2018. She used to teach at the Yamaha Music School in Tokyo and has had success with pupils of her receiving awards in various competitions.

Minah Lee

Piano

Born in 1998 in Epsom, England and raised in South Korea. In Seoul, Minah studied piano with Eun-ju Jung and was awarded various prizes in competitions and performed in annual concerts. Her first charity concert was in Seoul, where she played Beethoven Symphony no.5 arranged for four hands. After returning to England, she invested more time in finding her own colour and worked on organisation.

She is an active accompanist, having past experiences of performing with various instruments such as the violin, viola, vocal, flute, and also church choir. Minah is currently studying with Penelope Roskell in Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and preparing for the Alfred Kitchin competition (Chopin) in March, 2020.
